Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation

Andrew Simpson was a gold and silver Olympic medallist, and America’s Cup professional; who was tragically killed in a training accident on San Francisco Bay in May. He was survived by his wife Leah and two boys.

Andrew, ‘Bart’ to his friends, was the person that so many turned to for guidance. Supporting the next generation of sailors was something he was extremely passionate about.

The Foundation will honour his life and his legacy by encouraging youngsters into sailing, with the aims of giving opportunity to many, but also to support and nurture the most talented individuals.

As well as developing on water skills, the charity will aim to offer apprenticeships in other areas of the sailing profession including sail making and boat building.
